Corporate Partners

As a private, nonprofit institution, corporate partnerships are an essential component of Mount Washington Observatory’s funding and marketing. We proudly align with respected brands to achieve shared goals in brand-building, lead generation and income growth.

Earning frequent and widespread media attention, Mount Washington Observatory provides its partners invaluable exposure while earning them goodwill in the marketplace for supporting a respected nonprofit cause. It’s a formula that works, year after year, and our family of loyal partners is testament to that success.Current openings, if any, are listed below.

True To The Trail® – and the MWOBs footwear provider!
It’s the compass heading that guides everything we do. From building great fitting footwear to how we give back to our community and the way we treat our planet. It’s a mindset that grounds us in what’s most important, doing things the right way. Because any other just wouldn’t be true to the trail.
Eastern Mountain Sports is the Official Outfitter of Mount Washington Observatory, providing our staff with rugged gear that withstands the rigors of life and work in the Home of the World’s Worst Weather. With a shared passion for the outdoors, Eastern Mountain Sports is also a presenting sponsor of the Observatory’s Seek the Peak hike-a-thon, and the EMS Climbing School has led mountaineering trips to the Observatory’s summit weather station since 1995. Through authentic experiences, credible expertise and gear that performs no matter what, Eastern Mountain Sports is committed to the mountain life.
Eaton is proud to be the Official UPS (uninterruptible power supply) and Battery Back-up Supplier for Mount Washington Observatory, helping sustain its 80-year weather record and making sure its weather recording is not disrupted. When working in some of the worst weather conditions in the world, power outages are common—which can mean losing precious weather data even when the power’s only out for a few seconds. The Mount Washington Observatory also takes advantage of Eaton’s on-site preventive maintenance services as well as Eaton’s remote monitoring service that continually collects UPS performance data and sends status messages to Eaton’s 24×7 remote monitoring command center.

Proud to partner with NH’s premier attraction since 1869! The Cog is the first mountain-climbing cog railway in the world, and the only one currently operating in North America. With an average grade of 25% (some sections approach nearly 38%), it’s also the second steepest in the world! Motive power is primarily provided by a fleet of seven powerful biodiesel locomotives, each custom designed, built and maintained on site. And with a nod to its steam heritage, the railway also continues to operate a pair of century-old, coal-fired steam engines. Trains run year-round to various elevations up the mountain. One of our closest partners, the Mt. Washington Auto Road and Great Glen Trails grant the Observatory permission to use the road, and share a maintenance facility with us at the base of the mountain. Great Glen Trails proudly hosts our Seek the Peak hike-a-thon after party each July, offering a fantastic outdoor space and logistical coordination for one of the biggest parties of the summer. The Auto Road also generously donates a portion of each vehicle entry fee to the Observatory in exchange for free admission to our summit museum for all Auto Road patrons.
